Welcome to the Darwin Holistic Health Centre website

Darwin Holistic Health Centre is based in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. It was the vision of Lila Notley OAM to have a Research and Treatment Centre in Darwin, using natural therapies. Lila saw the need for more integrative healthcare information being made available to the general public, especially in the area of cancer.

In 1997 Lila and a small steering committee of volunteers planned and organised the 3^rd World Congress on Cancer. This congress drew 274 participants from both the general public and health professionals. There were 13 overseas presenters from 9 countries and 8 presenters from Australia.

The committee aimed to develop a body that could assist people aiming to improve their well being. Based on this concept the Darwin Holistic Health Centre (DHHC) was born. On the 8^th September 1998 DHHC was incorporated (No.22573).

DHHC is primarily concerned with providing support, guidance and information to its members and the general public, about alternative and complementary therapies, to help them maintain optimum health. The Centre is operated entirely by volunteers, some of whom have experienced and survived life-threatening illnesses, and who now wish to share their experiences with others.

Holistic health focuses on maintaining a balance between the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of the human condition. Our members are encouraged to accept responsibility for their own health, and to maintain a regimen that fosters prevention of illness through making informed choices and adopting an intelligent lifestyle.
